“Ministries” just means the things we do to help people. There’s a lot of things we do – but only a few that are organized well enough to put on an “official” page. So here are a few…
Matchless Treasures Thrift Store
Every community has it’s folks who are going through hard times… and Leadville is no different. We’ve found that the thrift store is a greaet way to help folks who are in need. Not only can people find great deals on everyday needs (I found a cordless phone for $3.00 – and it works great!), but people who are having a hard time with cash can ask and often the management will give them the items they need, if that’s what it takes! Every penny that comes into Matchless Treasures either goes to pay employees or bills related to the store, or right back into the community through benevolence or other giving. Matchless Treasures is on Harrison, in downtown Leadville!
The ladies of Community Church have organized to provide a variety of opportunities to meet the needs of women and various needs in the church and community. The Women’s Ministry Misison is:
To equip, encourage, and empower women in understanding and growing in their God-given purpose.
As the women of Community Church stive toward this end, plans are in the works for Bible studies, Women’s Retreats, Community Outreach events such as Ladies Teas, and many other events! As you visit us on Sunday mornings there is always updates and contact information on the Women’s Ministry Board located in the auditorium.
Community Outreach
Throughout the year there are all kinds of organized and spontaneous opportunitites to serve the community of Leadville. We try to keep our eyes open to the needs that are showing up around us and do what we can to help. In the future, we are desiring to organize a bit more and have a “Community Outreach Team” that can lead the way in discovering needs and creatively meeting them. If you have any ideas or would like to lead a group to reach out to our community in compassionate service – please leave a comment and let us know!

I spoke with Ann today and she said you had gotten the women’s ministry started and were just trying to decide what night to meet. I was hoping you would pick Wed night, as I would love to join up. I go down to Denver weekends and go to church with my mom, so I couldn’t do friday, but definitely need something in the middle of the week.
